American Blues Theater Community Service

COMMUNITY SERVICE

This is where American Blues Theater brings heart to the art! We think it is an honor and duty to serve our community. We raise awareness and offer services to other non-profit organizations’ great causes. Using the themes of each manuscript, we choose community collaborators for every production.

Since 2009, we’ve held food & book drives, distributed promotional materials, provided complimentary tickets, and raised awareness for children’s surgeries and health issues. We donate proceeds from our “Pink Previews” to The Lynn Sage Foundation for breast cancer research.

The Lincoln Project American Blues TheaterArts Education. We provide a free arts education program, The Lincoln Project, to Chicago Public Schools that aligns with Illinois Core Curriculum standards. Our innovative and adaptive program engages 5th – 10th graders in the life of Abraham Lincoln, specifically the events surrounding the Emancipation Proclamation. This program is used in classes such as American history, social studies, language arts, and extracurricular activities such as speech and drama.  Learn more about The Lincoln Project>>.
