Welcome to American Blues Theater.
In the past 15 years, we’ve showcased three bio-musicals featuring music legends who defined their eras. You may have caught our critically-acclaimed productions of Hank Williams: Lost Highway and award-winning, smash hit Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story. Now, we proudly add Always…Patsy Cline to that list of our essential musicals.
Patsy Cline was the first female country artist to crossover into mainstream pop audiences. A revolutionary, headlining force, she blazed trails for the iconic Dolly, Loretta, Linda, LeAnn, Brandi, and Taylor. While Patsy didn’t write her own songs, her extraordinary vocal performances and emotional power allowed her to own every lyric she sang. Her legacy and connection to audiences remain as strong today as they were over 60 years ago. This revue features 20+ of her greatest hits while showing the down-home Virginian woman who never lost her roots.
Her love for her audiences will resonate in our intimate production. It’s impossible not to feel the warm embrace in your seat. There is no better quartet to transport you than directors Harmony France and Michael Mahler, the astonishing Liz Chidester, and charming guest artist Molly Hernández. Supported by incredible musicians, designers, and technicians, we feel Patsy’s spirit pass through our theater’s doors each night.
May she inspire you to go home and write a letter to a loved one before it’s too late.
