Policies through August 6, 2022
Welcome back to Blues! We’re so excited to have live, in person performances again. The health and safety of our audience, artists, staff, and community are of utmost importance. We hope these protocols, developed in consultation with public health guidance and Chicago’s performing arts sector, offer additional layers of protection and reduce the risk of COVID-19.
We anticipate maintaining these protocols through August 6, 2022 or until such time prevailing medical guidance allows for a relaxation of certain policies. Please revisit this page prior to your scheduled performance for the latest protocols. Send any questions to BoxOffice@AmericanBluesTheater.com or call (773) 654-3103.
The following protocols are in effect for August Wilson’s FENCES at Theater Wit.
WEAR A MASK
All patrons and visitors, regardless of vaccination status, must wear a mask while Cook County is in medium risk level (according to the CDC) for the safety of the performers. Please properly wear a mask covering both nose and mouth while inside the theater venue. Scarves, bandanas, gaiters, and masks with valves are unacceptable.
All audience members must be fully vaccinated* with an FDA-authorized vaccine to be admitted to our rental venue Theater Wit.
*”Fully vaccinated” means the performance date must be at least 14 days after receiving the second dose of a two-dose vaccine or single-dose vaccine. Proof of vaccination can easily be provided by showing your physical vaccination card, legible photocopy, or photo of your card and government-issued photo ID.
Patrons with medical or religious exemptions may be admitted but must contact Theater Wit box office a minimum of 48 hours before the performance for additional review and guidance. Masks are required for medical and religious exemptions.
E-tickets can be made available for a touchless Will Call experience.
They are no fees for same-price ticket exchanges. An upgrade charge may be added for a more experience performance.
E-tickets and digital programs will be made available for a touchless experience.
Sanitation stations will be located throughout the lobby of the venues.
IMPROVED AIR FILTRATION
HVAC filters have been upgraded with fresh air flow throughout the building.
FOOD & DRINK
Concessions at Theater Wit will be limited. Food and drink will be allowed only in designated areas of the lobby.
If for any reason you are unable to attend your scheduled performance, Blues guarantees to get you into a future performance or exchange your tickets for an upcoming production.
By attending a performance or event by American Blues Theater, you acknowledge there is a risk of exposure to COVID-19 in any public place where people are present and voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure.
If you are not feeling well and exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19, or have been exposed to COVID-19 in the past 10 days, you should not attend a performance or event at American Blues Theater. Please contact the Theater Wit box office to reschedule or arrange a refund.
