J.G. Smith is a Chicago native. Onscreen credits include Chicago P.D. (NBC), Short Comings (MTV), Knives and Skin (TriBeCa/Berlinale/IFC), Argus (WarnerMedia), the award-winning indie film The Dancing Monkey, and Dorm Therapy (YouTube). Additional stage credits include the world premiere of Kevin Douglas’ Plantation! (Lookingglass, dir. David Schwimmer); the Chicago premiere of Inanimate (Theater Wit); Mother of the Maid (Northlight); I and You (Peninsula Players); Peter and the Starcatcher (City Equity Theatre); A Christmas Carol, Alice in Wonderland, and As You Like It (Alabama Shakespeare); Romeo and Juliet, Pericles, Love’s Labour’s Lost (The Shakespeare Project of Chicago); Twelfth Night, The Taming of the Shrew, Richard II, The Winter’s Tale (Back Room Shakespeare Project); Censored on Final Approach (the GYM at Judson); As I Lay Dying (Brooklyn Arts Exchange); and The School for Lies (BWPNYC). J.G. works regularly as a performance artist in both Chicago and NYC; original pieces include the award-winning MARYSHELLEYSHOW, the short film Hire Me Spielberg, and the ongoing series COMPANIONABLE SILENCE.
